I am happy to own two hard copies of Curious Things so far (it is available here in bookstores!) and, to be honest, it is a wonderful gift to give friends and family, just for fun. With a flair for drama in her vignettes, Ms. Silver cleverly executes the creation of distinct and lovable personalities for inanimate objects. The playful illustrations allow readers to almost believe that random items of our daily lives - bicycles, snot, spaghetti, toilet paper rolls - have feelings, emotions, fears, and hopes. Of COURSE they do :)!! My 85-yr-old mom (who is in assisted living, with limited entertainment) laughed the hardest I have heard her laugh in quite a long time, when I read her the first story. That, in itself, has made this Curious Things a real gem :). I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Hope Silver, for sharing your rich imagination and creative talents so colorfully.
