About the Author Toby Joyce grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Ten years ago she relocated to sunny Southern California. She enjoys walking, along the beach and in the many parks. She writes from her upstairs home office, with a view of majestic pine trees, high flying birds, and spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Is there anything more powerful than love of family and country? By emssheri Two things I really love in a book are humor and a happy ending. Toby Joyce's ANDRE'S SIDE OF THE STORY gave me one, and left me curious about the other. Andre is a hard-nosed, workaholic, FBI agent, but underneath that gruff exterior beats the heart of a poet. Toby takes the reader from one harrowing assignment to the next, with stops for love and laughter in between. Each chapter left me thinking I knew what was coming. I was wrong! This is a wonderful story with an ending you won't see coming. Enjoy!

For all us readers that long for their own hero with a heart that fills the role of savior and seducer, this is the book for you. This book is for sure more about love than sex so for anyone that's tired of all the vivid humping and sweating this is a good book to read. There are love scenes but they are more vaguely mentioned than actually described. I really enjoyed getting to follow along Andre and Cheryl's journey into curiosity, love and honesty.

I especially like how the book weaves together the excitement of an FBI agent's professional life with his introspection on his personal life--and how the conflicts between the two are resolved. The family scenes are particularly moving. It also impressed me how well-structured the book is. Beyond the technical merits, there was a heartwarming tone of humanity and hopefulness throughout the story. That is what will stay with me the longest.
